AEK FC officially announces the extension of Petros Mantalos’ contract until the summer of 2024.

Petros Mantalos is the captain and the leader of our team for the last seven years. In the summer of 2013, he signed his first contract with AEK and joined the team a year later, playing in the Super League 2.

With Mantalos as a captain, AEK returned to the Super League, won the Greek Cup in 2016 and the Greek Championship in 2018, after 24 years and played in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Champions League.

Despite the fact that in less than three years (March 2015 and October 2017) he suffered two serious knee injuries, in these seven years Mantalos has made 175 appearances in the Championship, 43 in the Cup and 29 in European competitions. In total, he has worn the yellow and black jersey in 247 games (51 goals and 72 assists).

At the same time, he has been a key member of Greek national team (36 games, 4 goals) since 2014.
