AEK FC have signed Peruvian international central defender Alexander Martín Callens Asín on loan from Spanish club Girona.

Alexander Callens was born on May 4, 1992 in the city of Callao, Peru, and his height is 1.86m. He started his career in the youth system of the local club Sport Boys and made his professional debut in the top division of Peru in 2010-11 season (31 appearances – 1 goal).

He then came in Europe to join Real Sociedad and played with their B team. In 2015 he moved to CD Noumantia (40 appearances and 3 goals in Segunda Division 2015-17) and then he had a five-year spell in MLS with New York City FC. This was the most significant period of his career so far, with a total of 193 games and 15 goals.

Since last January, he belongs to Girona, with whom he played in six Primera Division matches.

He made his debut for the Men's National Team of Peru in 2013 and has been a regular in the call-ups for the last decade, with 37 appearances and one goal.
