With Michalis Arkadis, President and the Austrian Helmut Senekowitsch, coach, AEK lost unfairly the Championship but won the Greek Cup. AEK won twice Olympiacos in the quarter-finals and beat Iraklis in the semifinals. During the first ever final held in the Olympic Stadium of Athens, AEK won PAOK 2-0. Mavros and the young skipper Vlahos were the scorers.
