SUPER CUP 1989
The Champions AEK met the Cup winners Panathinaikos AEK at the Olympic Stadium of Athens in August 1989 for the "Cup of Friendship and Solidarity". The score after extra time was 1-1 and AEK won the trophy after the penalties shootout thanks to the crucial save by Spiros Oikonomopoulos (6-5).
