ΑΕΚ FC defeated 2-1 Atromitos FC at OPAP ARENA, Nea Philadelphia, for Matchday 6 of STOIXIMAN SUPER LEAGUE 2023-24.

AEK scored the opener in the 31st minute with the penalty kick that was awarded in favour of Petros Mantalos and scored by Nordin Amrabat, and went on missing big chances for a second goal. Atromitos equalized in the 89th minute with the penalty kick that was awarded in favour of Karol Angileski and also scored by him. Djibril Sidibe was sent off with a straight red card for this penalty on Atromitios' striker.

However AEK even with ten players grabbed the victory as Mantalos won one more penalty. Mijat Gacinovic scored from the spot in the fifth minute of stoppage time (out of the total 13 minutes given due to the time-consuming VAR checks) with a Panenka style kick and gave AEK the first home win of the season.
