AEK Athens announces its agreement with Rafik Djebbour, who will sign on July 1st a one year contract with a renewal option for another year.
Rafik Djebbour was born on March 8, 1984 in the French city of Grenoble and began his career at Auxerre. He also played in Belgian club La Louvière and continued his career with a long presence in Greece and specifically in Ethnikos Asteras (2005) Atromitos (2005) Panionios (2007-08) AEK Athens (2008-2010) and Olympiacos (2011-14). After a short spell at the Turkish club Sivasspor in 2013, he returned to Olympiakos and on January he was transferred to Nottingham Forest. The Season 2014-15 he won the championship title in Cyprus with APOEL.
Rafik Djebbur said, after the completion of the agreement with AEK Athens: "I am proud of my return. It's something that I really wanted, there were discussions for some time and I am very pleased to complete the deal. My goal is to win the championship with AEK and to play with AEK jersey at the elite of Champions League. I ‘d love to live again glorious moments with the team and I can promise to AEK fans that I’ll do my best, giving my 100% to fulfill our goals".
