AEK FC announces the agreement with Nikos Lyberopoulos, who returns to the club by taking over the post of technical director. The AEK FC family wishes Nikos Lyberopoulos to be successful in fulfilling the high goals of our club.
After the signing of his new contract as technical director, Nikos Lyberopoulos stated:
«I would like to thank the board of AEK FC for their trust to me. The only thing i have in my mind right now is to start working and to help the club reach their goals! What is important now is the games we have ahead, so i think that nothing else must be said right now, we have work to do! I hope that through my work i will give back to the club the appreciation has shown to me».
Nikos Lyberopoulos was born on August 4, 1975 at Filiatra, Messinia. He made his first steps in football at the local team of Filiatra and then he made an exceptional career by playing for Kalamata, Panathinaikos, AEK FC, Eintracht Frankfurt and then he returned to AEK FC, where he managed to lift the Cup in 2011, just a year before his retirement. He had been first scorer of the League twice during his career and he had been elected best footballer of the year in the Super League during the period 2006-07. He has 76 appearances (13 goals) with the National team of Greece, being also member at the squads of Euro 2008 and Euro 2012.
Nikos Lyberopoulos was Technical Director of AEK FC in the new beginning of the club in 2013, position where also had at Panathinaikos until June 2017.
