The Student grandstand opened against Aharnaikos yesterday at Olympic Stadium of Athens. This time on the occasion of the World Day against childhood cancer the kids hung a banner referring to this serious disease that affects children.

In Greece about 300 children each year are affected by cancer. The index in Europe indicate that cancer affects one in 500 children. Every year 35,000 new cancer cases are recorded in minors in the European Union. But the difference now is that the child cancer -at a rate of 81 to 87%-is curable if predicted early enough.
Childhood cancer can be defeated. All we need is proper medical care and patience, strength and faith by children’s families.
