AEK FC announces the six month loan agreement with UD Las Palmas for
Sergio Araujo, with the option of extension for one more year.
Sergio Ezequiel Miguel Dela Vera’s Araujo was born in Neuquén of
Argentina on January 28, 1992. He became part of the youth academy of
Boca Juniors when he was very young and made his professional debut in
2009-10, when he was 18 years old. During his career at Boca Juniors
Araujo made 22 appearances and scored 1 goal.
In 2012, Boca loaned him at Barcelona B, where he made 34 appearances and scored 7 goals in 2012-13.
In 2013-14 he loaned by CA Tigre of Argentina (12 appearances, 2 goals)
and the next year moved on loan again to Las Palmas, where he scored 25
goal in 43 appearances in Segunda Division B!
In 2015, Las Palmas promoted to Primera Division and “El Chino” made 43
appearance and scored 7 goals in 1,5 year (August 2015-December 2016)
for Las Palmas.
During his entire career he has 168 appearances and 44 goals
Sergio Araujo has also 16 appearances with the National teams of
Argentina U17, U20, U22 and U23, having scored in total 8 goals. With
the Argentina U20 he had reached the Final of the Pan American Games
2011.
Sergio Araujo will be the No11 of his new club.
