AEK FC officially announces the transfer of Tom Van Weert from Volos NFC. The Dutch striker has signed with our club until the summer of 2024.

Tom Van Veert was born on June 7, 1990 in Sint-Michielsgestel, Netherlands. He took his first steps in football at RKVV, a local club, and then joined the youth team of FC Den Bosch. In January 2009 he signed his first professional contract and over the next four and a half years he played in 118 games (45 goals, 12 assists).

In the summer of 2014 he signed for Excelsior. With the Rotterdam club he played in 70 games (31 goals, 6 assists) until June 2016. His next career stop was FC Groningen, with whom he made 54 appearances, scoring 18 times (4 assists).

In August 2018, he moved to Denmark, signing a three-year contract with Aalborg BK, playing a total of 91 games (31 goals, 9 assists). In July 2021, he came to Greece for the first time to play for Volos NFC and quickly caught the attention with his performance and goals.

He played in 34 games in the 2021-22 season, scoring 17 goals and was named the league's top scorer. This season he managed to play in three league games and scored once.
