AEK FC announces the transfer of Panagiotis Kone, who returns to our club after nine years.
Panagiotis Kone was born on July 26, 1987 in Albania. He started his career at the academies of Olympiacos and in 2004 he moved to Lens, at the age of 17. One year later he signed his first professional contract with AEK FC. During his first spell at our club he made 33 appearances and scored three goal from 2005 until 2008. In 2008 he signed for Iraklis and until 2010 he made 52 appearances and scored eight goals.
In 2010 he moved to Brescia Calcio and the next season was transferred to Bologna FC 1909, where during his staying made 94 appearances and scored 13 goals. In 2014 he moved to Udinese Calcio, who is still keeps his rights, where he made 43 appearances. During these three seasons at Udinese he also played on loan for ACF Fiorentina and Granada CF.
Panagiotis Kone has been part of the Greek National teams U19 and U21 and in 2010 he became International with the main squad, having played 28 times and scored two goals.
In 2012 he was at the preselection squad for the Euro in Poland and Ukraine and in 2014 he was an active member of the National team at the World Cup of Brazil, where he made three appearances.
