In a great football night that started with an impressive choreo of the AEK fans, inspired by their relationship with those of Olympic de Marseille, the two teams offered to the spectators a very interesting football match that, unfortunately, did not end well for AEK.

Marseille took the lead in the 25th minute with a header from Chancel Mbemba following a corner kick by Jonathan Clauss. AEK tried to equalise, creating but also missing big chances in the second half. In the third minute of injury time AEK conceded a second goal, scored by Ismaila Sarr, after a counterattack.
