AEK FC announces the signing of Paolo Fernandes after a transfer agreement with Volos NFC. Paolo Fernandes will play on loan to Volos until 31/12/2022. His new contract with AEK finishes on June 2027.


Paolo Fernandes was born in Zaragoza, in 19th of August 1998. His father was born in Capo Verde and his mother is Spanish. He started playing football at youth level for Zaragoza.


In 2013 at the age of 15, he signed for Manchester City. There he played for the U18, U21 and U23 teams of the club. For the latter he scored 11 goals in 22 games for Division 1 of Premier League 2, during 2016-2017 season.


He then played on loan for the Dutch side Breda, for two consecutive seasons, before he signed for Perugia in Italy. At 2020-2021 he played for Castellon in Spain and he joined Volos for the next season. At 2021-2022 he made 30 appearances for Volos in Super League and the Greek Cup, scoring 6 goals and providing 3 assists. In the current season he has so far 1 goal and 2 assists in 4 appearances.
