AEK FC officially announces the signing of Grzegorz Krychowiak. The Polish international midfielder signed with our club until the end of the season.
Grzegorz Krychowiak was born on January 29, 1990 in Gryfice, Poland. From the age of 12 he started playing in various football academies and through his appearances with the Polish U16 National Team, he was discovered by Bordeaux and joined French team’s Academy.
In November 2009 he was loaned to Stade Reims until June 2011. The second half of the 2011-12 season he played on loan for FC Nantes (21 appearances) before returning to Reims in July 2012. In total Grzegorz played with the Reims jersey in 131 games, scoring 12 goals.
In the summer of 2014, he made the first big transfer of his career, after Sevilla bought his rights for 5.5 million euros. He played for the Spanish team for two years, recording 90 appearances (5 goals, 6 assists). In July 2016, Paris Saint-Germain paid 27.5 million euros to acquire him.
He played in 19 matches with the Parisian team, followed by his loans to West Bromwich (31 appearances, 3 assists) and Lokomotiv Moscow (109 appearances, 23 goals, 15,assists) with the Russian team finally buying him in the summer of 2019, paying 12 million euros. In August 2021 he transferred to Krasnodar, managing to play in 15 games (5 goals, 2 assists).
In his career, Krichoviak has won two UEFA Europa Leagues (scoring in the 2015 final against Dnipro) with Sevilla, one Cup, one League Cup and two French Super Cups with Paris SG, as well as two Cups and a Super Cup with Lokomotiv.
He was an international with all the youth national teams of Poland and since 2008 he is a key member of the Men's National Team, with which he has earned 86 caps (5 goals) so far. He has played with Poland in Euro 2016 and the World Cup 2018.
