AEK Athens announces the start of cooperation with the international Venezuelan goalkeeper Alain Baroja Mendes. Baroja signed a one year contract with 2 years extension rights.

Alain Baroja born on October 23, 1989 in Caracas Venezuela. During his first professional steps he played as a striker but soon found out his real talent. He began his professional career in 2009 in the second group of Caracas and soon competed with the first team. He moved on loan to Llaneros de Guanare and -after a very good season- during the summer of 2012 he finally returned to the first team of Caracas to win the position of the main goalkeeper. He was also called to the Venezuela National team. At the age of 24 he became Caracas FC’s captain while he had a great performance in 2015 Copa America with Venezuela National team.
